Have you taken your unit away for a weekend residential-either indoors or camping? Been on a zip line? Learnt bush craft skills? Enjoyed some relaxation techniques and yoga?

If not, don’t worry!

Nether Auchendrane is our County’s residential centre where you can experience all of this!

Our Leader’s Open Day is on Saturday 16th September, 11am-3pm! Come see what Nether Auchendrane can provide for your unit. Have a look inside the basement and discover all the camping equipment that is stored there. How about trying to put up a tent, light a fire or even have a go on the zip line? (Why should the girls have all the fun? )

ACE (Adventure Centre for Education) will be on site to showcase what they can offer your unit and will carry out some demonstrations.

Ruth from Harmonise Yoga, who has experience working with Girlguiding units, will lead several workshops of yoga and relaxation techniques that you can particiapte in, to get a feel for the type of sessions that she can provide for your girls.

The launch of the Biosphere badge, created with the Galloway and Southern Ayrshire UNESCO Biosphere along with SW Scotland Scouts and D&G Girlguiding, will also be celebrated with resources available for leaders.

Help and advice with the GAW scheme will be accessible too.

Teas, coffees and a light lunch will be available

Due to limited parking at Nether Auchendrane, a planned minibus shuttle service will be in operation from Alloway

Whether you’ve been to Nether Auchendrane before or not, the open day is an opportunity for all leaders to come along and enjoy the surroundings and meet up with other leaders and swap ideas regarding residentials and unit activities.
