⭐Ayrshire South County delighted with funding award for beloved County Campsite ⭐
We are delighted to share that in the last year we obtained funding from the National Lottery Community Fund for a long awaited new heating system and new disabled bathroom at our county campsite, Nether Auchendrane!
This upgrade has given us a modern and sleek accessible bathroom for all visitors to make use of!
We would like to give a heartfelt thank you to FONA (Friends of Nether Auchendrane) for supporting us in securing the fabulous grant from the National Lottery Community Fund.
The new accessible bathroom is now complete and how fantastic does it look?! SC Designs UK did a fantastic job for the team, working within the budget and also supporting with donated time.
The new heating system has vastly reduced their energy bills going forward, and made the buildings much more energy efficient! Thanks to the team at O’Neils for their work and commitment to installing the new system!
As well as the above projects, the team have also welcomed South Ayrshire Council’s Community Payback Team who have come to refresh the paintwork inside the buildings, and have also helped with clearing and improving the outdoor space and keeping the grass looking its best. Thanks also go to Community RePaint for helping with the materials!
The team is working very hard to develop, protect, and future proof the amazing county campsite for future generations to enjoy for years to come!

‘’I am extremely proud that we have managed to obtain the National Lottery grant enabling us to modernise our building to ensure that it is around for future generations to use and benefit from. Our next task is to refresh the rear of the property where we have removed over 50 trees, many of which were diseased or rotten. This has enabled us to look at this area as a fresh pallet and we are excited about the possibilities this new area can provide for all“
County Commissioner, Elin Marsh said: “Thank you to 2 amazing local companies who have helped us to bring Nether Auchendrane up to more modern standards. They have been a dream to work with, understanding our needs and timelines. “
